Tea Time Mug Rug

Tea Time Mug Rug

During my quilting phase, I made a few mug rugs – little place mats to use while having a cuppa and a snack.  So, why not double-knit loom knit one?

Download color chart here.

Each block in the pattern represents one stitch.  The blue blocks represent the blue stitches, tan blocks the tan stitches and the white blocks the white stitches.  Viewing the chart, we will work from bottom up.

In this pattern, you’ll want to wrap your blue yarn first in the row, then follow with wrapping the tan yarn.  Wrap the blue yarn on the left using a separate skein of yarn.  Once you reach row 4, that will be the last row to use the separate skein on the left.

Once both blue and tan yarn has been wrapped, hook over.  Continue working the pattern from bottom up until completed.  Single-crochet a blue border around it for the last touch.

Once completed, grab a cuppa and a snack and put your mug rug in business!
