Loom: 10” Knitting board loom or any double-knit loom with at least 22 pegs.
Yarn: Approximately 400 yards of worsted-weight yarn. Sample uses Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn, 2 skeins of Claret
Stitches: Modified Rib Stitch, Left Twist Cable
Notions: Knitting Hook
Gauge: Not important
Length: About 70 inches long
Special Stitch Instructions
Modified Rib Stitch: Start on 1b(ack) to 3f(ront) to 2b to 5f then continue like normal rib stitch.
Left Cable Twist: Move stitches on pins 4f and f5 to back pins (temporarily), move stitch on pin 6f to pin 4f, move stitch on pin 7f to pin 5f. Move stitch from 5b to 7f. Move stitch from 4b to 6f.

Cable Set of 4:
Rows 1-3: Work in Modified Rib Stitch.
Set up for Left Cable Twist.
Row 4: Wrap and work in Modified Rib Stitch.
Cable Set of 8:
Rows 1-7: Work in Modified Rib Stitch.
Set up for Left Cable Twist.
Row 8: Wrap and work in Modified Rib Stitch.
Instructions
Cast on 17 stitches using the stockinette stitch. Lay anchor yarn. The rest of the scarf is knit in a modified rib stitch.
Rows 1-40: Work in Cable Set of 4 (total of 10)
Rows 41-100: Work Cable Set of 8 then Cable Set of 4 (total of 5)
Rows 101-112: Work in Cable Set of 4 (total of 3)
Rows 113-172: Work Cable Set of 8 then Cable Set of 4 (total of 5)
Rows 173-175: Work in Modified Rib Stitch
Set up for Left Cable Twist.
Row 176: Wrap and work in Modified Rib Stitch.
Rows 177-212: Work in Cable Set of 4 (total of 10)
Bind off and remove anchor yarn.

I love the scarf but don’t quite understand the modified rib stitch.
Do you have a diagram or picture of how that looks?

Hi Diana, I don’t have a diagram or pic. A normal rib stitch would start as wrapping first back peg (1b) to 3rd front peg (3f), then back to 3b then 5f and continue on every other one.
