Scary Cat Halloween-Style

Scary Cat Halloween-Style

Boo!  With Fall here and Halloween coming, how about adding this cute, scary cat (Can scary be cute?  Of course it can!) to your project!

This is an easy and quick addition to anything you want to add a little Halloween to: scarf, dishcloth, table runner and more.  We’ll get you started by following the color chart with the first couple of rows of this scary kitty.

Download your own chart here.

Each block in the pattern represents one stitch.  The black blocks represent the black stitches and the orange blocks represent the orange stitches.  Viewing the chart, we will work from bottom up. In this pattern, you’ll want to always wrap your black yarn first in the row, then follow with wrapping the orange yarn.

Working in the Stockinette stitch, cast-on your first row in orange.  Complete your next row in black.  Continue following the pattern from the bottom up.

Here is the first pass of Row 3 in the chart filling in the black first (not showing Rows 1 and 2 for easy viewing):

Here is the same row, filling in the orange:

Now hook over.

Continue following the chart, wrapping the black yarn first, then orange yarn in each row, then hook over.

Have fun and Happy Looming!
